Cookie policy

This page explains what cookies and similar browser storage are used on reelroostteamtonsi.homes, what each category is for, and how to change or withdraw your choice at any time.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Similar technologies, including local storage and session storage, do the same job by different means; where this policy says "cookie" it covers those as well. Cookies can be set by the site you are visiting (first party) or by another domain whose service is embedded in the page (third party). They can last only until you close the browser (session cookies) or persist for a set period (persistent cookies).

2. How consent works here

When you first arrive, a banner appears at the foot of the page with three choices: accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or open preferences and decide category by category. Non-essential cookies are not set before you make a choice. Your decision is recorded in your browser's local storage so the banner does not reappear on every page.

To change your mind, clear this site's cookies and local storage in your browser settings and reload the page; the banner will reappear and you can choose again.

3. Categories used on this site

Cookie categories
CategoryPurposeSet byConsent
EssentialRecords your cookie choice, maintains security and load balancing, and keeps pages working. Without these the site cannot function properly.First partyNot required
AnalyticsCounts page views and referring pages in aggregate so we can see which guides are read and where broken links appear. No analytics provider is enabled on this site at present; if one is added, it will be listed here and will run only with your consent.First party or third-party measurement providerRequired — off until you agree
FunctionalRemembers display preferences you set, such as text size or a dismissed notice, so you do not have to set them again.First partyRequired — off until you agree

4. Third parties

Our pages do not embed advertising networks, social media widgets or tracking pixels. Our hosting and content delivery provider processes request data to serve pages and protect the service; that processing is described in the privacy policy rather than being a cookie in its own right. If we later add an analytics or embedded service that sets cookies, this table will be updated before it goes live and consent will be sought through the banner.

5. Controlling cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies independently of any banner. The controls are usually found under settings for privacy, security or site data:

Blocking all cookies will stop the banner remembering your choice, so it will reappear on each visit. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working as intended. Browsers also offer private browsing modes, which discard storage when the window is closed. Guidance for consumers on cookies and online tracking is published by the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

6. Do Not Track and global privacy signals

Browsers may send a Do Not Track header or a Global Privacy Control signal. There is no single agreed standard for responding to Do Not Track. Because we set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and set analytics cookies only with consent, your position is the same whether or not these signals are sent.

7. Changes to this policy

We will update this page whenever the cookies used on the site change. If a new category is introduced, the banner will ask for consent again. Questions about cookies can be sent to [email protected], or by post to Roost Editorial Works Ltd, Unit 6, Harlow Yard, 18 Fennimore Street, Bermondsey, London SE1 4XQ, United Kingdom.
